Animoto gives users a simple, click-of-a-button way to turn their digital photos into professional-grade web videos. Through YouTube's API, users can upload their videos directly to YouTube so that the YouTube community, and not just the Animoto community, can enjoy their creations.

Animoto leverages YouTube's upload API to make uploading videos effortless. When users create a video, they are invited, alongside the traditional sharing mechanisms (email and embedding and such), to upload that video to YouTube. After the user enters some video metadata, the video is uploaded and shortly thereafter appears in the user's profile.
